Our inaugural event, PAIR '25
Newport/Irvine · Summer 2025
Our inaugural PAIR event in 2025 was a huge success. Twelve mentors and twelve mentees came together for a morning that none of us expected to feel so significant. The room had an energy that was hard to name — somewhere between nervousness and possibility — and it settled into something warm almost immediately.
The Munch & Learn set the tone early — mentors sharing their unfiltered career stories over breakfast, mentees realizing these accomplished women once felt just as uncertain as they did. There was something quietly powerful about hearing "I didn't know what I was doing either" from someone who clearly figured it out.
By the PAIR Activity, the room had shifted. Small groups huddled together, trading questions about interviews, handshakes, and the parts of 'adulting' no one teaches you. Mentees who had arrived quiet were leaning in, asking follow-ups, taking notes in their phones.
The Ice Cream Social wound things down, but the conversations kept going. Several mentors stayed long after the scheduled end time — exchanging contacts, making promises to follow up, already talking about next year. What started as an event had become something more like a beginning.
Looking back, PAIR '25 was never really about the agenda. It was about twelve girls leaving with a slightly wider sense of what's possible — and twelve women reminded of how far a single afternoon can go. We left that morning knowing we'd be back.
What follows are a few words from the families who joined us.
Thank you so much for organizing the PAIR mentorship. I loved learning about how to write different kinds of emails, networking, and how to be prepared for an interview.
Mentee, PAIR '25
She has never said 'I want to do it again' like she has about your PAIR event with such excitement and admiration.
Parent of mentee, PAIR '25
She felt at ease and comfortable interacting with the mentors. She said everything was outstanding.

If PAIR '25 was the first step, PAIR '26 is where we keep walking. We can't wait to see who walks with us.
